Solid surface drainboard bits are used with handheld routers to cut shallow, flat-bottomed grooves with radiused corners into solid surface or composite countertops to create a built-in drainboard. This functionality is also applicable to wooden countertops and cutting boards. The specially designed carbide bits create a surface to channel water away from the countertop and into the sink, making it a specialized tool for kitchen fabrication.
